Who we are

TAIBU is a Kiswahili word for “Be in Good Health“.

Where systemic racism prevents marginalized populations from accessing necessary healthcare, community health centres are designed to meet the needs of marginalized populations.

TAIBU Community Health Centre offers Black-identifying clients from throughout the Greater Toronto Area access to primary care, health promotion and disease prevention programs in a culturally affirming environment.

In 2023, we proudly celebrated our 15th Anniversary, a milestone that reflects our deep commitment to the Black community in Scarborough and the GTA. To learn more about our journey and our dedication to addressing the unique healthcare needs and challenges faced by this community, we invite you to watch our special video. It tells the story of TAIBU, our commitment to promoting health equity, and our ongoing mission to foster well-being within our community.
