TAIBU received Scarborough Heroes Award for Outstanding Organization
In recognition of our service and support during the COVID-19 pandemic, we at TAIBU Community Health Centre are grateful to be awarded the inaugural Scarborough Heroes Award for Outstanding Organization in 2021.
This award recognizes local organizations and businesses and/or their leaders who went above and beyond to serve their clients and/or support the Scarborough community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Board, Staff, Volunteer and Community members are honoured and delighted to be the recipient of Black Health Alliance’s 2021 Legacy Award.
Who we are
TAIBU Community Health Centre is a community-driven organization, located in Malvern, serving the Greater Toronto Area’s Black-identifying communities.
We are located in the Malvern neighbourhood of Scarborough in Ontario. TAIBU also serves all the residents of the Malvern neighbourhood bounded by McCowan Rd to the West, Pickering Town line to the East, Highway 401 to the South and Steeles Avenue to the North.
Accreditation
TAIBU Community Health Centre is accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA). CCA is a national, not-for-profit organization offering accreditation specifically tailored to community-based health and social services across Canada. CCA accredited organizations are committed to quality and continuous improvement in the community-based health and social services they provide.
Accreditation is a voluntary process led by independent external reviewers. It is an opportunity to be evaluated against national standards of excellence and best practices in the health and social service sector to strengthen our systems and processes, foster a culture of learning across our organization, and help our Centre successfully integrate leading practices.
